Some of these words are familiar to me from the 80s - 'chandelier earrings' hasn't changed its meaning as far as I can see but 'double denim' was desirable then and is described as a fashion faux-pas now:

I find it interesting that some of the new words in the OED are terms more associated with modern technology such as the use of shorted words for text messages when nowadays phones have auto correct so terms such as "apols" instead of apologies as not always necessary.
